Nestled among 77 square miles of pristine forests, lakes and streams, Presque Isle is a four-season vacationland guaranteed to leave lasting memories of its breathtaking wonders. The top attraction is the natural splendor of the Wisconsin Northwoods, with a location that is immediately adjacent to Michigan's sprawling Ottawa National Forest and Wisconsin's 20,000+ acres of Northern Highland State Forest.

Over 1,000 lakes, in Wisconsin's Vilas County and Michigan's Upper Peninsula, surround Presque Isle. Lake Superior, the Porcupine Mountains and the canoe country of the Sylvania Wilderness Tract are but a short drive away. Additionally, Presque Isle is in the heart of Wisconsin's famous Lakeland area, offering shopping, family attractions, historical museums, golfing, tennis, horseback riding and more.

Free from the typical tourist crowds, Presque Isle offers a world of relaxation throughout the year. Snowmobiling ~ Manitowish Waters is home to one of the oldest snowmobile clubs in the state. Manitowish Waters is a unique hub linking into five other trail systems - north, south, east and west. Updated trail reports are posted on the club website at www.mw-snoskeeters.com. The club also coordinates a variety of fund raisers throughout the season and year. Snowmobile trail map requests are fulfilled by the Chamber of Commerce.

Downhill Skiing ~ The Manitowish Waters area is just minutes south of some of the finest downhill ski facilities in the Upper Midwest. Michigan's Upper Peninsula boasts downhill ski slopes such as Indianhead, Blackjack, and Powderhorn.
